Cantata has finally opened up again after 18 months, but we weren’t completely silent during that time. Like many groups, we took to the internet and lived our lives on Zoom, holding singing sessions with our choir members, play along sessions with our orchestra and even held some music theory sessions for anyone who wanted to stretch their brains a bit more.
November 8th 2019 – It’s been a mixed 12 months for Cantata Music Education with some highs and sadly some lows.
November 14th 2018 – You can now view all of the currently planned concerts for the remainder of 2018 and 2019 in our events calendar. This includes both our Summer and Christmas concerts for all choirs and the orchestra.
March 3rd 2018 – A couple of years ago we were approached by David from Mill Productions saying they would like to make a film about community music and thought of us! That was the start of a very exciting project that came to fruition last year. We planned… and discussed… and rehearsed… and everyone became involved raising the necessary funds… and the end result is stunning, even if we do say so ourselves!

August 29th 2017 – WOWSigners now have a new rehearsal venue. The group now meets at Morley Green Club, Mobberley Road, Wilmslow, SK9 5NT. The times and fees remain the same.
April 13th 2017 – As we move through the spring months, preparations are on-going for a splendid array of summer concerts with all our groups. Be sure to take a look at our Events Calendar for more details on each one. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
January 15th 2017 – After eight years of running Cantata Music Education with Catherine, Annie has left and is moving to Scotland to be nearer to her father and step-mother. All the groups said a fond farewell to Annie in December and her place at the piano has been taken over by Pam Jay. Pam started with us in January and has settled in well to her new life with Cantata.
January 1st 2017 – Back in 2015 we held our first singing day bringing together members from across all our groups to sing Fauré’s Requiem. It was the first time many of our singers had had the opportunity to sing music from the standard choral repertoire and it was so successful we ran another one last year… (read more)
